The Biggest Snake

This story is so fascinating that I thought I’d post it again. A giant python which is nearly 15m long, has been caught in Indonesia. It weighs 447 kg and could slither into the record books if it’s proved to be the largest snake of all types of snakes ever caught.Villagers say they captured the beast in the wild and now hundreds of people are visiting it at a zoo in Java, on the main island of the country. The local newspaper is reporting that the snake (part of the reptiles family), which was only recently put on public display, eats three or four dogs a month.Record breaker?

The Guinness Book of World Records lists the longest ever captured snake to be 9.75m and the heaviest to be 182 kg so if confirmed, this python would be the biggest snake ever kept in captivity Reticulated pythons are the longest snakes in the world and can eat animals as big as sheep. They’ve also been known to kill humans.I find the cobra snake, the rattle snake, the coral snake and the rat snakes most fascinating, but this story is amazing. Just look at this beauty. Of all the pictures of snakes I have seen, this one ranks up at the top.
